William J.E. “Bill” Benge — Duker & Haugh

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 8:20 PM, William J.E. Bill Benge, 80, of Quincy, passed away at home.

The son of Quincy residents Brian and Viola (Pennell) Benge, Bill was born on April 24, 1945. Their deaths came before his. On October 29, 1962, he wed Quincy native Erma Candy Beaston. On February 1, 2025, Erma passed away.

Bill received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. He ran a mobile welding business and worked as a mechanic, welder, and metal fabricator. He retired from Marlboro Wire in 2010 after working for several Quincy-based businesses, including Doyle Manufacturing, Manchester Tank, and Titan Wheel.

Hunting, fishing, watching vintage Westerns, and receiving affection from his granddaughter Itty Bity were among Bill’s favorite activities. He was a devoted spouse and parent.

His wife, Lisa, and son, Bill Benge, survive him. Don Fox (Lonita), brother. There are also several nieces, nephews, and cousins who are still alive.

Along with his wife, Bill’s brother David Fox and sister Sharon Hubbard also passed away before him.

There are currently no scheduled formal services, and cremation rites have been granted.
