On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, Sharon K. Kuhlman, 81, of Quincy, passed away at Blessing Hospital. The daughter of Aubrey and Glenola (Talent) Yates, she was born in Quincy on September 28, 1943. On November 9, 1963, she wed Robert Reis for the first time. He passed away on January 25, 1989, before her. On July 12, 1996, she later wed James A. Kuhlman. He passed away on October 10, 2023, before her.
For more than 30 years, Sharon was employed at Royal Printing. After that, she spent many years working at Advance Physical Therapy. She belonged to the Catholic Church of St. Peter.
Sharon loved her two sons, Greg and Tony, and their families very much. She was the largest fan and most proud of her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and she was always there at every QND and QU soccer game when her grandchildren were participating. Few people can claim to have been fortunate enough to have two amazing guys in their lives, but Mom was. Both our father, Bob, and her second husband, Jim, were her spouses for more than 25 years. Mom was meticulous, considerate, and had a special place in her heart for every dog that came into contact with her. She spread joy wherever she went and was well-known as the treat woman. She left a lasting impression on many individuals and genuinely cared about them. “She made me proud to be at QND,” one QND coach reportedly remarked. Few are able to leave such a legacy.
She will be sorely missed. Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma, may you rest in peace. You were a unique individual.
Tony (Melissa) Reis and Greg (Cindy) Reis are Sharon’s children. Her great grandkids, Olive and Daisy Reis and Hayes Reis, as well as her grandchildren, Alexandra (Haley), Parker Reis, and Aubrey (Madeline Bauer) Reis, Connor Reis, Taylor (Reagan) Reis, and Cooper (McKenzie) Reis, will also be her pallbearers. Along with Mark Kuhlman and Karen Kuhlman (Robert) Amos and their children, Eliza and Isabella, Sharon also cherished her strong bond with Katherine Kuhlman Rosanova. In addition, Sharon is survived by her brothers-in-law, Dan Reis and his wife Diana, and Fred Kuhlman; sisters-in-law, Glenda Yates, Susie Reis, Maggie Reis, Ann Budde and her husband Larry, and Mary Drymiller and her husband Mike. There are also many surviving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to Robert and Jim, Sharon’s brother Jack Yates, sister Pat Real, and husband Jim also passed away before her. Darlene Williams and her husband Gail are sister-in-laws, while Steve, Gary, and Rich Reis, together with his wife Gayle, are brothers-in-law.
