Robert Joseph Maas age 82, of Quincy passed away at home on June 8, 2025. He was born on March 28, 1943, in Quincy, IL a son of Elmer John and Coletta Lucy (Wellman) Maas. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School.

He married Connie Louise Moenning on September 2, 1961, in St. Francis Catholic Church and she survives. Bob worked at Moorman Manufacturing Company; he also worked in maintenance and construction and was self-employed. He retired in 1995.

Robert was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where he was also a member of the Men’s Society. In his free time, he liked woodworking, traveling, and most of all spending time with the grandkids.

In addition to his wife Connie, survivors also include their children: Debra (Bob) Schaffer of Quincy, IL; Jeff (Gayle) Maas of Colorado Springs, CO; Cheryl (Brad) Burghart; Kevin (Beth) Maas all of Quincy.

Grandchildren: Jason (Jessie) Powell; Zack Powell; Brook (Jake) Rast; Rachel (Rita) Maas; Breann Burghart, Evan Burghart; and Maddie Maas.

Great Grandchildren: Laurana Powell; Takayla Powell, Ashtun Powell; and Caleb, Bryce and Alivia Rast.

Siblings: Lucille (Fritzie) Nieders, Gerald (Shirley) Maas, Thomas (Julie) Maas and Elmer (Jeanie) Maas. Sisters-in-law, Joann Moenning; and Mary Moenning.

Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter in infancy, Sharie Marie Maas. Siblings: Rosie Benz, Loretta Klauser, Barbara Hilgenbrink, Virgil Maas, Clarence Maas, Clara Neisen, Joan Dreyer, Florence Smith; Gerald Maas and Melvin Maas. Brothers-in-law Ken Moenning and Stan Moenning.

Funeral Services: Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Donovan officiating. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church. Memorials may be made to: St. Anthony Catholic Church or to Blessing Hospital Foundation for Hospice.
