Missouri’s Hannibal. In Marion and Lewis counties, resurfacing work is expected to start as early as the week of June 23. Beginning on Marion County’s Route F, contractor personnel will go from Route E at Woodland to 0.2 miles west of U.S. Route 61 close to Palmyra.

After finishing, workers will move to Lewis County’s Route Y, which runs from Route K to Missouri Route 16 close to Monticello, and Marion County’s Route P, which runs from Route A to the end of state maintenance.

At the site where workmen are operating, traffic will be restricted to one lane with a 10-foot width. To direct traffic through the work zone, flaggers and a pilot car will be used for traffic control. Schedules are subject to vary, and all work is contingent on the weather.

Festus-based Above and Below Contracting, LLC was given the $2.9 million contract last year. It is anticipated that all work will be finished by November 1.

The Governor’s Rural Road initiative includes several resurfacing projects. Missouri’s low-volume rural highways will get an extra $100 million in general income if the governor signs the fiscal year 2025 budget. The Missouri Department of Transportation has determined 1,985 lane miles of low-volume routes that require treatments to enhance road conditions based on asset management data. Throughout the state, 19 contracts are being packaged with the roads. Go to modot.org to learn more about the governor’s rural roads initiative.
