Quincy Citywide Cleanup to be held Sept. 24-26

Quincy The annual Citywide Cleanup Event of the City of Quincy will take place from Tuesday, September 24 to Thursday, September 26. The northeast corner of the empty lot at Front and Payson Streets will be the site of the cleanup.

The following hours are when the cleanup site will be manned and accessible to the public:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 24: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 25: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 26: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Only residents of the City of Quincy are permitted to attend, and upon admission, attendees must provide a valid driver’s license or photo ID. No commercial haulers are allowed.

In order to avoid being turned away, residents are encouraged to arrive at least half an hour before closing time. Additionally, as city employees won’t be available to assist with manual unloading, participants are urged to bring assistance if they require assistance.

The following things will not be allowed, just like in years past:

  • Yard waste
  • Tires
  • Electronics
  • Household garbage
  • Paint, chemicals, and other liquids
  • Batteries
  • Appliances containing refrigerants (unless refrigerant has been properly removed by a licensed technician and certified with a tag)
