Quincy Families are invited to a special Story Time with the Author event on Sunday, July 6 at 10 a.m. at the Quincy Children’s Museum, located at 11 N. Fourth St., where speech therapist and children’s book author Brittany Musholt will be speaking.
Musholt will discuss her endearing book, A Tail of Empathy: Rocky Gains a Brother, which teaches young readers about kindness, empathy, and how to welcome a newcomer via lighthearted narrative. The book is ideal for young children and families because of its endearing drawings and emphasis on emotional development.
A book reading is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., with doors opening at 10 a.m. After the event, visitors are free to remain and play at the museum. During the event, attendees can also get Musholt to sign their copy of the book.
In a press release, Amy Peters, executive director of QCM, stated, “We are thrilled to have Brittany return to Quincy to share her story with local families.” Our goal of teaching children via play and introducing them to critical qualities like empathy is supported by activities such as these.
$5 for children aged 1 to 12 and $2 for those aged 13 and over, as well as for children under one, is the general admission fee to the museum.
