Quincy Recently, a local student who was graduating was given a scholarship from the Quincy Breakfast Kiwanis Club. According to the applications that were submitted, Adeline Schuster from Quincy Notre Dame was chosen as the recipient for the 2025–2026 academic year. The $1,000 scholarship is given to help with college costs for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Rebecca and Brian Schuster are the parents of Schuster. She intends to participate in the national Naval ROTC program at the University of South Florida-Tampa. One of her future aspirations is to become a pilot. Schuster belonged to the QND Key Club for four years.
One Quincy Notre Dame student and one Quincy Senior High student who fulfill the formal conditions are the recipients of the scholarship. Each candidate must be a senior at Quincy Senior High School or Quincy Notre Dame High School who is about to graduate and have participated in the Key Club for at least two academic years.
Each student’s degree of community involvement—both through volunteering and impact—is given particular consideration. Additionally, candidates are required to compose an essay discussing their most noteworthy Key Club community service endeavor or accomplishment. The project/achievement description and goal, the number of additional volunteers, if any, who collaborated with them on the project, the lessons they learned, and the ways in which they gained from the experience were all included in the essay. What kind of community work they anticipate performing in college and later in life was another topic covered in the essay.
Pat Bauer, president of the Quincy Gem City Breakfast Kiwanis Club, stated, “We are honored to offer this worthy Key Club student a scholarship through the hard work of the Quincy Breakfast Kiwanis Club, and we wish Addie the very best in her academic growth at the collegiate level.” In the hopes that our young people will find the experience of changing the world as fulfilling as we do, getting them interested in community service through our local Key Clubs is a great place to start, Bauer added.
