Hastings’ longtime interest with the Old West, where stories of bravery, tenacity, and fortitude are told against a backdrop of untamed wildness, served as the inspiration for her book.
“I’ve always been drawn to the simplicity and moral clarity of that era, which contrast sharply with modern complexities,” Hastings stated in a press release.
Her passion for this era has grown as a result of her painstaking research, which makes it the ideal backdrop for her stories.
Gina’s father, who reminded her of their family’s ties to renowned novelist Samuel Clemens, supported her writing abilities from an early age. After years of developing her creativity, Hastings has renewed her ambition of becoming a published novelist despite the rigors of everyday life, including raising four adult children.
