Quincy As part of its annual Best Hospitals survey, U.S. News & World survey has named Blessing Hospital a High Performing Hospital for the seventh year in a row. According to the U.S. News Best Hospitals Procedure and Condition ratings, the highest honor a hospital may receive is High Performing Hospital.
According to the national 2025–2026 study, Blessing excelled in the following care domains:
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
- Colon cancer surgery
- Heart bypass surgery
- Stroke
More than 4,400 facilities in 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions were assessed by U.S. News. Blessing Hospital was one of just 38% of the assessed hospitals to receive the designation of High Performing Hospital. Using outcomes data from more than 800 million patient care records, the prize is given based on objective metrics such risk-adjusted mortality rates, avoidable complications, and nursing care quality.
The ratings are intended to help individuals make well-informed choices regarding where to get treatment for medical illnesses or elective surgeries.
Hospitals named High Performing by U.S. News consistently provide excellent care for specific medical procedures and conditions, demonstrating their specialized expertise and dedication to exceptional patient outcomes, according to a press release from Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of Health Analysis at U.S. News.
According to Tim Tranor, DNP, MBA, RN, executive vice president/chief operating officer/chief nursing officer, Blessing Health System, “Our physicians, nursing team, other caregivers, and support staff feel a heightened level of responsibility to achieve exceptional outcomes because we are the region’s referral hospital.” This level of attention is something that our patients should expect from their hospital and deserve. This acknowledgement demonstrates that the Blessing team’s expertise, ability, and commitment are meeting the duty.
