Missouri Department of Transportation names James new leader in northeast district

HANNIBAL. Kevin James has been appointed as the northeast district district engineer for the Missouri Department of Transportation. After district engineer Paula Gough retires in February, James, who has been the northeast district’s assistant district engineer for the past 17 years, will assume leadership of MoDOT operations in the 17 counties in the northeast district.

James, who was born and raised in Palmyra, has worked for MoDOT for 29 years, starting in 1996. He has worked for the agency in a number of capacities, including as an assistant district engineer in Macon, an area engineer and traffic engineer in the northeast district, and most recently, since 2011, as the assistant district engineer in the northeast district. James received honors in his civil engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

“I am honored and humbled to be selected as the district engineer for MoDOT’s northeast district,” James stated in a press statement. I’m from here, therefore it means a lot to me to take on this position and be able to help the people of Missouri and the northeast communities. Together with our planning partners and the building and contractor industry, I am thrilled to spearhead the numerous investments being made in transportation infrastructure at this time.
