Quincy In Adams County Circuit Court on Friday, a man from Ashland, Illinois, entered a guilty plea to charges of possessing child pornography and sexually exploiting a minor.
A man in a red Kia was allegedly exposing himself to youngsters in several locations of the city, prompting the Quincy Police Department to launch an investigation in August 2024. After that, Ashland resident James Clary, 42, was taken into custody and sent to the Adams County Jail.
Judge TadBrenner sentenced Clary to 15 years in prison and a mandatory three-year to life sentence on parole after he entered a guilty plea on Friday.
According to a QPD news release, Flock traffic cameras played a crucial role in expeditiously resolving this case when victims came forward to provide thorough descriptions of the perpetrator and the car.
Assistant States Attorney Laura Keck of the Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
