Letter to the Editor: Addition of provider committed to nurturing hope, healing families is welcomed

Published On:

We learned that a special permit for the proposed construction of a counseling center that simultaneously offers court-ordered supervised visitation services was recently issued by the Quincy Plan Commission. I would like to clarify how those in our community who require these services can obtain them.

Since 2019, Hetzler and Associates has been a resource for the State of Illinois Department of Human Services-approved Partner Abuse Intervention Programs, individual and family therapy, family reunification, and court-ordered supervised visitation and exchange services, as well as Child 1st Parenting Time Services.

In addition to Adams County, we have been pleased to be a reliable supplier for Missouri and a number of neighboring counties.

Child 1st Parenting Time Services provides scheduled parenting time supervision with the goal of fostering a solid and healthy relationship between parents and children. During visits, the needs of the children take precedence above the worries of the courts, each parent, and/or any interested parties. Our programs give kids the chance to interact with both parents in a secure and regular manner without having to deal with difficult adult disputes or legal issues. Every service is provided by a licensed mental health practitioner.

I have several years of experience providing behavioral health and other social service programs in our community, so I am well aware of the need for supportive resources to reach underprivileged people. The inclusion of a provider dedicated to fostering hope and healing within families is something my clinic would be delighted to have.

Hetzler, Clairice, Quincy, Illinois
