Quincy This August, when the annual Little Miss & Mr. and newborn contests return with a magical Wizard of Oz theme, the Knights of Columbus BBQ is the next stop on the yellow brick road. The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 10 at 1 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus grounds located at 700 S. 36th St.
The contest invites children to showcase their charm, smiles, and spirit and is a beloved element of the community’s favorite summer event. Children aged 0 to 35 months are eligible to enter the baby contest, while children aged 3 to 6 are eligible to enter the Little Miss and Mr. contest.

According to a press release from pageant organizer Lindsey Hess, the infant and Little Miss and Mr. competition is usually a highlight of the K of C BBQ, a Quincy tradition that unites generations. The Wizard of Oz theme for this year provides a whimsical and nostalgic touch. We can’t wait for our own scarecrows, lions, and Dorothys to appear on stage.
The competition takes place during the bigger K of C BBQ weekend, which is well-known for its delicious cuisine, live music, and sense of community. From carnival rides and games to fish and chicken meals, the festival takes place from August 8 to August 10.
