Quincy On Monday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m., the John Wood Community College truck driver training program will have an open house at the Workforce Development Center, located at 2710 N. 42nd.
A night class option, finance possibilities, employment potential in the trucking business, and how the program has updated its training in response to federal restrictions regarding acquiring a CDL will all be covered by representatives. A 16-credit course, financial aid eligibility, and a Logistics/Truck Driver Training certificate will also be covered for attendees.
Industry-standard equipment is used as teaching aids in the curriculum. Demand for Class A CDL drivers is at an all-time high. Many trucking companies, including both large and local ones, will actively recruit students for the program. Tuition may be paid for by some employers.
The public is welcome to attend the open house at no cost. The truck driver training program can be reached by phone at 217-641-4971 or 217-641-4914, or online at www.jwcc.edu/truck.
