Hull of a Race for Parkinson’s Disease runs, rolls and walks into 19th year

HULL, Illinois. On Saturday, August 16, at 8 a.m., the nonprofit, 501c3 volunteer group Hull of an event will host its 19th annual event.

There will be three events at the race: a competitive kids’ run, a fun walk and roll for non-runners, and a competitive 5K and 10K run with age brackets for everyone. In fact, running is not allowed throughout this last event. Anyone who wants to walk, roll, or be carried in a wheelchair or stroller is welcome to participate in the Fun Walk, Roll.

Alan Avery provides timing, while Elvish Consulting provides chipped bibs to the racers. A flat, paved circuit through the cornfields and countryside on the outskirts of Hull is generally where racers get their greatest personal times. Top finishers will get trophies, medals, and ribbons.

This year, the American Parkinson Disease Association’s St. Louis section will receive all earnings from the Parkinsons Heroes tent, which is exclusively for Parkinson’s sufferers and their family.

This yearly event, which is celebrating its 98th year, is hosted in conjunction with the Hull Picnic.

You can register and find out more at hullofarace.com. Racers that sign up for the race by August 1st are assured t-shirts.
