What is it?
Every month, our Muddy Buddy team will choose the greatest and worst comments from our Facebook page. A $100 Happy Maids gift certificate will be given to one lucky winner. The Shame Shame Bell is used to publicly reprimand the worst statement. It’s all for fun, and just a friendly reminder that our 30,000 local Facebook followers can see what you post in the comment section. The engagement is adored by Muddy River News.
The News this Week piece featuring Michele McCormack, a new team member and guest, has this month’s prize for best comment. Gloria Long writes: Michele, welcome back! I recall that you covered the 1993 flood. Thank you for taking advantage of this chance to return to Quincy.
Gloria, that’s what we at Muddy River News believe. The team benefits from Michele McCormack’s excellent coverage, storytelling, and experience. Her presence on the team makes us really delighted. With the assistance of our friends at Happy Maids, we are also pleased to present you with a tidy home or workspace. Send us a message, and we’ll explain the collection process.
Like every month, there can only be one person who receives the Shame Shame Bell, however the bad comment of the month could go to several people in our comment area.
The item “QPS superintendent issues new public statement in wake of Denman Elementary controversy” has our worst comment. Jordan Mester wrote: I believe that the only people with a stake in this dispute should be those whose children attend that particular school.
The name of the organization under discussion, PUBLIC schools, contains the issue with this assertion. In the United States, the public education system imposes financial obligations on all individuals, whether or not they have children enrolled in the system or not. The public education system serves us as Quincy residents and taxpayers. We lead its policies and procedures and act as a monitor when it violates them. It takes a village, as the saying goes.
Don’t stop leaving comments! But heed my caution, as the legendary B.B. King once warned.
To determine the Best and Worst comment of the month, B.B. Queen will read over all of the comments, both positive and negative.
