Hannibal Regional Healthcare System to launch Epic EHR system on Wednesday, July 9

Missouri’s Hannibal. On July 9, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System will formally switch to the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, according to the announcement. Enhancing clinical workflows, increasing patient care, and expediting communication throughout the healthcare continuum are all made possible by this launch. Leading hospitals and health systems rely on Epic, one of the most popular and well-respected EHR systems in the nation, to safely handle patient data and facilitate the provision of top-notch treatment.

“Switching to Epic reflects our commitment to providing the highest quality care for our patients,” stated Todd Ahrens, president and CEO of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, in a press statement. Patients will gain from a more integrated and seamless experience with all of our offerings thanks to this strong platform.

Through MyChart, Epic’s user-friendly patient portal, the new system will provide patients with safe and easy access to their medical records. With MyChart, patients may conveniently use a computer, tablet, or smartphone to access test results, make appointments, send messages to their care team, request medication refills, and more. By combining patient records into a single, all-inclusive system that is utilized by all Hannibal Regional hospitals and partner providers, Epic will help care teams coordinate and work more efficiently.

To guarantee a seamless transition for both patients and employees, teams from within Hannibal Regional are undergoing intensive training and testing in advance of the opening.

According to Ahrens, this is an investment in the future of healthcare in our area rather than just a technological update. We are thrilled to have Epic at Hannibal Regional and anticipate all the ways it will enhance the quality of care provided to the communities we serve.
