On Friday, July 25, 2025, Earl Ray Ferguson, 86, of Quincy, passed away at home. One of Loren and Etha (McMurray) Ferguson’s eleven children, Earl was born on February 24, 1939, in Clark, Missouri. Earl was in the U.S. Army for two years. After that, he worked at Quincy’s old Electric Wheel Company until it closed. Until his retirement, he kept up his employment at Bud and Ray’s Hydraulic Repair.
Earl led a modest existence and enjoyed nothing more than gardening and taking in the scenery from his front porch. For years, he sponsored his preferred charitable organizations because he had a generous heart.
His daughter Brenda Henze and her husband Scott of Quincy are among the survivors.
There are numerous nieces and nephews, as well as two grandchildren, Quincy residents Joshua and Emilee Henze.
His parents, brothers Kenneth, James, Robert, Carol, Donald, Lyle, and Garry, and sisters Alice Ruth Irwin, Lois Ferguson, and Roma Delight Inman all passed away before him.
The American Legion Post #37 will perform military honors graveside services at Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
