How have you missed Ziva and Tony? Welcome to The Daily Dirt’s Vol. 1,368: Three Thoughts for Today.

1. The advent of August always means we re getting close to a new television season.

I have three new shows that I believe will be huge hits in light of that. They are not listed in any certain order:

Boston Blue (CBS): This series ought to be a true hit. Detective Lena Silvers (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a well-known law enforcement family, is teamed with NYPD Officer Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), who joins the Boston Police Department in the Blue Bloods universe expansion. In the last years of Blue Bloods, Wahlberg became THE star and a fan favorite. The success of the original Blue Bloods was always largely attributed to its supporting cast, so it will be intriguing to watch how new characters are developed to work with Wahlberg.

October 17 is the debut date.

I also believe that NCIS: Tony and Ziva, which will be streamed on Paramount Plus, will be a big success. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, who reprise their roles as former NCIS special agents Anthony Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, will be featured on the show for the first time in twelve years since NCIS season 11.

The two protagonists will be reunited in the spin-off, which will focus on the European events that influenced their plot. While de Pablo was a series regular from seasons three through eleven and made guest appearances in seasons sixteen and seventeen, Weatherly was a member of the original NCIS cast until his departure in 2016, but he returned in 2024 for a special tribute episode honoring David McCallum, who played Dr. Donald Ducky Mallard for twenty seasons.

debuts on September 4.

Fear Factor (Fox): I’m taking a risk with this choice, but fans of the original show are undoubtedly frightened of what a contemporary version would have in store for competitors. Participants in the revival of this legendary reality show will be placed in a harsh, isolated area. Living together under one roof, the group of strangers will experience terrifying challenges, mind-blowing stunts, and a perverted game of social strategy where fear is a weapon and trust is short-lived. Only one competitor will overcome all of their anxieties and win the enormous grand prize. Johnny Knoxville will host the show.

Debuts: In the middle of the season; no date has been set yet.

2. Did you know (Part 452)

  • That Dairy Queen s blizzard of the month for August is the Reese s Peanut Butter Caramel Craze.
  • That Butterfinger has a new candy bar flavor: Marshmallow..
  • That McDonald s has a new milkshake flavor coming Aug. 12. The guess is cotton candy.
  • That Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavor of the month is M&M s Monster Cookie . It has a brown sugar base.
  • That Wendy s launched some new energy drinks this week, most notably Cherry Limeade and Pineapple Citrus.
