Quincy Matthew McGinley is being honored as SIU Medicine’s August Employee of the Month in recognition of his dedication to providing compassionate, behind-the-scenes care that enables patients to receive the care they require.
As a member of the Care Coordination team, McGinley strives to guarantee that patients have access to essential resources like transportation. The public frequently ignores his work, but the people he assists do not.
Many of our patients are in a disadvantaged position, McGinley stated in a press statement. Even one individual offering assistance can make a huge difference when you’re having trouble paying your bills and putting food on the table. For as many of our patients as I can, I want to be that helping hand.
He recently helped a patient who received an unexpected cancer diagnosis by setting up transportation, providing information, and provided significant support during a trying time.
I think I helped this patient feel less alone during a difficult moment, he remarked.
SIU Medicine’s aim to provide compassionate and purposeful care to patients throughout central and southern Illinois is reflected in McGinley’s collaborative, trustworthy, and highly sympathetic attributes, according to team members.
