Barbara Ann Wingerter — Duker & Haugh

On August 17, 2025, Barbara Ann Wingerter, 87, of Quincy, died quietly. She was the daughter of Sterl and Thelma Eilene Nan (Rhea) Tomlin and was born in Quincy on October 9, 1937. Barb’s passion for her family influenced all aspect of her life as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Barb established many friends and had a lasting impression on both her coworkers and pupils during her time at Motorola, Likes Jewelers, and Quincy Public Schools, where she most recently retired.She was an avid local sports fan and enjoyed playing cards with friends and camping with family.Barb had a lively, vivacious, and feisty personality. Always prepared with a story, a laugh, or a grin that made people feel loved and accepted, she brightened any space she walked into.

Barb’s children, Victor Wingerter (Tina), survive her. Tim’s character, Vicki Fuller Carol (Rick Wingerter) (Julie) Scott Wingerter Wingerter Dennis (Qualla)Shane Wingerter (Jen), Brittany Smith (Thomas), Kayla, Briney (Andrew), Missy Abernathy (Jay), Michael Mace (Cassie), James Mace (Joann), Kelsey Jackson (Nathan), Meghan Dedert (Chad), Emma McKinstry, Ethan Wingerter (Marissa), India Green, and Isabella Wingerter are all proud grandparents.In addition, many great and great-great grandchildren adored her as their great-grandmother.Barb’s parents and cherished husband, Paul Wingerter, passed away before her.

Duker & Haugh Funeral Home will host funeral services on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Greenmount Cemetery is the place of burial. Visitation will take place at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. You can donate to the Blessing Cancer Center or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. The arrangements are being handled by the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
