At 8:40 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, Jerry Lee Wear, 68, of Camp Point, IL, died at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Jerry was born in Galesburg, Illinois, on December 9, 1956. His parents were Floyd and Marquette Gooding Wear. On July 28, 1979, he married Cheryl L. Dennis. She makes it through.

Jerry worked at Wiese USA in Hannibal, Missouri, as a forklift technician. Hunting, fishing, and tinkering with hot rods were his favorite pastimes, but he was also a Boy Scout Leader. He was a loving grandfather who always made time to be at his grandchildren’s functions.

His children, Faron Shane Wear, Brandon L. Wear (Jessica), and Erin I. Wear; his granddaughters, Madyson and Zackary Wear; his sister, Patricia Rice; and a host of nieces and nephews are among the survivors, along with his wife Cheryl.

His brothers, Paul, Norman, and Mike Wear, as well as his parents and one sister, Judy, passed away before him.

On Wednesday, August 6, at 10:00 a.m., funeral services will be held at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point. Howes Cemetery in Clayton, Illinois will be the last resting place.

The Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point will be open for visits Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The school fund for his grandkids may receive memorial contributions.
