At 3:10 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, Laurie L. Miller, 64, of Quincy, died at Blessing Hospital.
Roland and Sandra Schmidt VanZandt were the parents of Laurie, who was born in Quincy on September 7, 1960. On August 1, 2002, she wed Jack Miller in Quincy, and he is still alive.
Laurie attended Blessing Nursing School after graduating from Central High School in 1978. In addition to being a waitress at Baywatch, the Coach House in Quincy, and the Paloma Diner, she was a truck driver for CRST, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Above all, she liked spending time with her family and friends, but she also loved playing bingo and watching westerns.
Her children, Crystal Adair of Quincy, Jayson Adair of Quincy, and Jenna Casey (Juston) of Quincy, as well as her siblings, Amy Sprenger (Denton) of Coatsburg, Charles VanZandt (Dawn) of Camp Point, and Justin VanZandt (Shauna) of Clayton, as well as her mother-in-law, Carolyn Robbins of Fowler, her brother-in-law, Larry Robbins of Fowler, her sister-in-law, Susan Wheeler (Jeff) of Boone, IA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins survive her husband.
Her parents, siblings Troy VanZandt, Jay VanZandt, and Lesa Richmiller (David), her father-in-law Raymond Gladfelder, and her stepfather-in-law Lawrence Robbins all passed away before her.
Funeral services will be held at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point on Thursday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. Graymount Cemetery in Coatsburg will be the next place of burial.
The funeral home will be open for visits on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Blessing Cancer Center and/or Graymount Cemetery may receive memorial donations.
