Pleasant Hill, Illinois. On Saturday, August 30, the Pike County Fair Association will present the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus at the Pike County fairgrounds. For more than 40 years, the C&M Circus has offered top-notch family entertainment.
The A&E Special: Under the Big Top, Nick News: On the Road with Circus Kids, and most recently OETA’s Big Top Town have all highlighted this real one-ring, big top circus.
Leo Acton, everyone’s favorite circus clown, the high-energy Macias family hand and foot juggling, the Perez Daredevil Duo on the tight rope and Wheel of Destiny, and aerialist extraordinaire Simone on the trapeze are among the circus performances. Trey Key is hosting a large cat performance this year, which is new.
At 9:30 a.m., a tour and tent raising will kick off the day. The Midway features a large slide, moon bounce, pony rides, face painting, and a food stand. It opens at 1 p.m. There will be two and four-and-a-half p.m. circus shows, each lasting roughly ninety minutes.
Adult tickets cost $13 when purchased in advance, while children ages 2 to 12 and seniors 65 and older cost $8. $16 for adults and $9 for children ages 2 to 12 and seniors 65 and up are the day-of-show pricing, which go on sale an hour prior to each performance.
