On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Jerry R. Poore, 71, of Quincy, passed away at Blessing Hospital. The son of James Ray and Leanna Elsie (Walters) Poore, he was born in Kirksville, Missouri, on May 18, 1954. On September 10, 1988, he wed Amy Nauert in Quincy. She makes it through.
For many years, Jerry was employed at American Family Insurance. After that, he worked in sales for a number of Quincy-area businesses until retiring.
Being a huge baseball fan, Jerry frequently watched or listened to the St. Louis Cardinals games on KMOX. He also spent many years playing softball. He liked to read and watch Westerns. He also enjoyed candy and quizzes. Above all else, though, Jerry was constantly involved and supportive of anything related to his kids’ activities.
Jerry is survived by his wife as well as his children, Kristopher Poore (Morgan) of Eureka, Missouri, and Jamie Marshall (David) of Quincy.GRANDCHILDREN: Rhyan, Kellen, Quinn, and Sutton Poore; Warrick, Maeve, Vallen, and Kade Marshall.Terrie Sollberger (Dennis) is one sister.There are also many surviving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Gus Nauert, Jerry’s brother-in-law, and his parents passed away before him.
The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home will host funeral services on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Calvary Cemetery is the place of burial. Visitation will take place at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. You can donate to Quincy Notre Dame High School or St. Francis Catholic School.The arrangements are being handled by the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
