Culver-Stockton College IMA student chapter earns Gold Award of Excellence

CANTON, Mo. — The  Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) student chapter at Culver-Stockton College (C-SC) recently received the IMA Gold Award of Excellence, an honor granted to the student chapters that meet the IMA requirements, and a $500 prize.

According to the IMA website, the student chapter program emphasizes the promotion of management accounting/financial management as a profession and a career while encouraging the student-run chapters to be creative in providing services to their members. Each year, student chapters vie for the IMA Student Chapter Award of Excellence, which recognizes chapters for achieving distinction in their promotion of IMA’s mission and vision and providing a broader range of activities and services to their members.

In a press release, Dell Ann Janney, faculty advisor for the IMA Student Chapter and a professor of accounting at C-SC, said, “This recognition is a testament to the hard work, professionalism and drive of our business, finance and accounting students. They’ve demonstrated a strong commitment to both academic success and real-world learning experiences that will serve them well in their future careers.”
