Quincy On Monday, August 25, Illinois State Police officers will act as servers for a worthy cause at Texas Roadhouse for a special night that appeals to those seeking a distinctive dining experience.

On Monday, August 25, officers will be on duty at the restaurant at 5120 Broadway from 4 to 8 p.m. All of the cops’ tips will be donated to Special Olympics Illinois at the end of the evening.

That evening, guests can also take part in a 50/50 drawing.

Officers from all over the country work together to generate money for Special Olympics through the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which includes the Tip-A-Cop event as one of its fundraising platforms. The public’s support of this admirable aim is much appreciated by the Illinois State Police.

For additional information, call Special Olympics Illinois’s Tara Nickerson at 217-791-7291[email protected] or Master Sergeant Amber Dunn at 217-720-0334.

The biggest annual fundraising event for Special Olympics Illinois is the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Raising money and exposure for the athletes that compete in Special Olympics Illinois are the two main objectives of the annual intrastate relay and its different fundraising initiatives. Since 1986, the Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised over $75 million while bringing attention to the achievements of Special Olympics Illinois athletes. In Illinois, the Flame of Hope is traditionally carried by over 3,000 officers over 1,500 miles through the streets of their hometowns before being delivered to the State Summer Games in Normal in June.
